Prairie Freedom Center for Independent Living was established in 1982 as a 501(c)(3) private, non-profit, organization.
The founders believed in the human value, contribution, and spirit of people who have significant disabilities.  They believed that all people regardless of disability should have the right to determine how and where they want to live.
The Center was established to provide basic skills so many of us take for granted: to take care of our own needs and to make our own decisions...to be independent.
